Donation Processing: Any U.S. based 501(c)3 nonprofit can fundraise on Causes. *Sorry, we don't accept donations for nonprofits outside the United States.
All donations are processed by our nonprofit partner, Network for Good, an industry leader in processing online donations. They are a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity and have processed more than $250 million in donations for 45,000 charities through their giving system.
Network for Good has a 4.75% fee that is used to pay banks, credit card companies, and other associated costs of processing donations. Causes receives $0 from contributions and takes no additional fee from transactions.
Around the 15th of every month, Network For Good sends a check to every nonprofit that received donations on Causes in the previous month. These are sent to the address that your nonprofit has on file with Guidestar. For example, donations processed in February are paid on March 15th. To check on the status of specific donations, please email Network For Good directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Payment methods: You can donate on Causes using any debit or credit card with a Visa, Mastercard or American Express logo.
Donation security: Donation security is provided by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a recognized authentication and encryption software. SSL locks the site while you are giving us your credit card information and unlocks it only when you leave the secured area. Your credit card number is encrypted so it is unreadable to anyone outside the transaction process. This is the industry standard in security and we do everything we can to make sure we are at the cutting edge of security technology.
Tax deductions: Every donation you give through Causes is a tax-deductible donation to the extent allowed by law. Make sure to save or print the confirmation email that Network For Good sends to your inbox after you donate. Your donation information will also be stored online in your donation history.
